Valentine's Day Flower Bouquet

Instructions

For each individual flower trace one 2 inch diameter circle, one 1 ¼ inch diameter circle and a leaf form onto the green foam sheets. Cut out each traced form as seen in picture #1.

Separate Conversation Hearts by color.

Glue hearts to the very edge of the smaller circle. It will take approximately 7 hearts . Place a dot of hot glue in the center and place 2 different colored hearts back to back inside as seen on picture #2.

Glue that same color hearts (that match the 2 back to back hearts in the center of the small circle) to the edge of the large circle. This will take between 11 and 12 hearts.

Stack the 2 heart filled circles and the leaf form as seen in picture #3.

Cut a piece of wire 18 inches long. Fold the wire in half and poke through the center of the stacked foam shapes. This will create your flower and leaves as seen in picture #4.

Insert the wire into a straw. Trim the wire so that it is not longer than the straw. Slightly bend the straw.

Make multiple flowers and arrange in a glass vase. Fill the vase with the remaining hearts to use as support for the flowers.

Decorate the vase with a decorative ribbon.

Ask the Heart

Phrases Include:

  • I'm Sure
  • Yes Dear
  • Dream
  • I Hope
  • It's True
  • Get Real

Instructions

Cut 2 identical heart shapes, 1 with white foam sheet and 1 with pink, approximately 6 ½ inches wide by 6 inches tall (you can draw a heart free hand or trace a heart decoration or small chocolate heart shaped candy box). Trace the open end of the empty muffin paper container in the center of the pink heart and cut circle out. Trace the bottom end of the cupcake paper container on the red foam sheet to create a red circle. Trace and cut out a heart shape in the center of the circle.

Paint the empty muffin paper container using red craft paint. This may need 2 – 3 coats. Let dry.

Cut out a 1 inch by 1 inch cube out of the dry floral foam. Carefully press 1 Sweetheart into 1 side of the dry foam cube to create a heart indentation. Press hard enough so that the candy heart is completely set into the cube. Pop the heart out and repeat on all 6 sides. Paint the cube white. This may take 2 coats.

Choose 6 Sweethearts in different colors and sayings and hot glue into each side of the cube.

Insert the painted plastic container into the large pink heart and glue into place. Place the cube into the cup and hot glue the white heart backing to the pink heart. Hot glue the red circle with the heart cutout on the top of the painted container to create the viewing hole. Glue decorative ribbon to the top and bottom of the cup to cover the foam edges. Decorate rest of the heart with glitter or foam stickers.

Play Ask the Heart by asking the heart a question and shaking the game piece. Look into the viewing hole to see how the heart has answered your question.

Sweetheart Plinko Game

Materials Needed:

  • 2 pieces Foam Board (preferably with graph grid printed on them)
  • Clear Push Pins
  • Tape Measure
  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Clear Packing Tape
  • Large and small Foam Sticker Hearts
  • Bowl of Sweetheart Candy
  • Marker
  • Glue
Valentine's Plinko Board

Instructions

Cut 2 identical pieces of foam board to 14 inches x 18 inches. In the top left corner of the board make a mark 2 ½ inches down and 1 ½ inch over. Continue making 7 more dots across, spacing them 1 ½ inches apart. Next, to start row 2 1 inch below row 1. Place your first dot 2 ½ inches in. Continue with 6 additional dot acrosss. Row 3 will be identical to row 1 and row 4 will be identical to row 2. Continue this pattern until you have 11 completed rows. Place a clear thumbtack on each dot . You will need to have the 2 foam boards back to back because the thumbtack will be longer than the thickness of just 1 board.

To make the lane for the hearts to land in, you will glue one stick on its side so that one end butts up against the tack and it points to the end of the board. You will glue a total of 8 sticks to match up with the 8 tacks in the bottom row. Next glue sticks along the bottom of the ends of the sticks to close off your lanes. This will take approximately 2 1/3 sticks.

To make your buffer for the sides of the game, you will decorate your board with 5 foam sticker hearts on each side that are between 1 ½ inches and 2 inches wide. Next place 7 hearts in the bottom of your sticks lanes that measure 1 to 1 ½ inches. Give each lane a different number value with a marker (Ex - 1 2 3 4 3 2 1)

Finally, to close off each lane, measure one length of clear packing tape to 14 inches. Measure a second length to 11 inches. Stick the 2 pieces of tape together so that the stick sides meet. Place your piece over the bottom of the number valued hearts and secure the ends to the board with the sticky sides down.

Now you are ready to play. Tilt your board against a wall or up against a picture frame. Drop individual hearts from the top of the board and see where they land . You win the number of hearts that matches the number on the lane where your heart lands.
